Make your decision before you order. <\/strong>This may seem like a no-brainer, but it&#8217;s one of the most important things you can do to avoid annoying your server as a food critic. If you take forever to decide what you want, it holds up the whole table and drives your server crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Be specific about what you want.<\/strong> Vague requests will only confuse your server and make them more likely to get your order wrong. If you&#8217;re particular about something, let them know upfront so they can accommodate your request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Don&#8217;t change your mind once you&#8217;ve ordered.<\/strong> Once you&#8217;ve made your decision, stick with it. Changing your mind after you&#8217;ve ordered is just going to hold up the table and frustrate your server just because you are a food critic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Be patient.<\/strong> Good things come to those who wait. If you&#8217;re in a hurry, it&#8217;s best to just order something simple and be done with it. Don&#8217;t send food back unless it&#8217;s truly terrible.<\/strong> Unless the food is inedible or seriously overcooked, it&#8217;s best to just leave it be. Be polite. <\/strong>This one should go without saying, but it&#8217;s worth repeating. Your server is a human being, not a robot, so treat them with respect. Don&#8217;t be a know-it-all.<\/strong> There&#8217;s nothing more annoying than a know-it-all who has to correct their server all the time. If you know more about food than your server, great! Keep your requests reasonable.<\/strong> Asking for impossible things will only frustrate your server and make them less likely to accommodate your other requests. Don&#8217;t be a penny-pincher.<\/strong> It&#8217;s one thing to be frugal, but another to be cheap. If you&#8217;re constantly trying to get your server to give you discounts or freebies, you&#8217;re going to annoy them. Be grateful for good service. <\/strong>If your server goes above and beyond, let them know that you appreciate it. Don&#8217;t be a demanding diva.<\/strong> If you&#8217;re constantly making demands and expecting special treatment, you&#8217;re going to annoy your server. Don&#8217;t get too personal.<\/strong> Your server doesn&#8217;t need or want to know your life story.
